Service Description

This level 3 course is the perfect way to continue developing your sewing skills if you've taken Levels 1 and/or 2 and are looking for your next challenge.  If you book your Level 3 course between the date that you book your Level 1 course and one month after you complete Level 2, you can request a 10% discount code for Level 3. Of course, Level 3 is also ideal for people who feel they already have a working knowledge of the skills learned in Level 1 & 2, particularly the ability to prepare a paper pattern and cut fabric in readiness to sew.  Perhaps you've followed a pattern or two, but lack confidence attempting trousers or more complex zips, for instance.  If that's the case then Level 3 may well be for you.  If you're unsure if you're ready for Level 3, please get in touch to have a chat about your current sewing skills and what you're looking to learn next. This is a nine week programme designed to teach you the skills you need to make shorts/trousers.  Throughout the course, you will be working on the skills that will prepare you to make your own bag, PJ shorts (or trousers) and a pair of shorts with a curved hem, including using flat fell seams, inserting fly zips and various welt pockets, curved hems, elasticated and curved waistbands and more! Along the way, you will be able to add your skills samples to your workbook of all the techniques and projects that you will be able to refer back to at home any time.   Please note, whilst we won't make the PJ top in class as this is covered in Level 2, you will receive the digital pattern. This course is suitable for those who have completed Level 2 or who have followed some simple patterns but would like the confidence that will come from working with your tutor to produce a shorts & trousers. Classes are limited to 7 people.   A range of class times are available to allow you to select the one which suits you best.  If your preferred option is unavailable, you can be added to a waiting list for a future class at that time and we will let you know when a place becomes available.  Please contact Lisa if you would like to be added to the waiting list. If you would like to purchase this class as a gift, please go to our Gift Card page, or you can book the class using the recipient's details.
