About
Atelier: /əˈtɛlɪeɪ/ a workshop or studio, especially one used by an artist or designer
The Auld Atelier is a bright, new sewing studio in the heart of Paisley, near Glasgow, providing a welcoming, friendly space for people of all ages to come together to learn to sew. We aim to take the fear out of sewing and create a space where you can learn and sewcialise.

We aim to give people the opportunity to learn high quality sewing and pattern drafting techniques with the flexibility to fit their learning within their busy lives.
The Auld Atelier
by Lisa Thom
The Auld Atelier was created to share a love of sewing and creating with others whilst recognising that we all have different time constraints and budgets. Run by Lisa Thom, who began sewing as a hobby 20 years ago before going on to get a 1st class honours degree in Fashion Technology from Heriot-Watt University, the aim is to make sewing accessible to people of all ages and lifestyles.
Before re-training in sewing and pattern drafting skills, Lisa was a fully qualified and experienced primary school teacher. Creating this sewing school brings together her two passions - creating and teaching.
