Eco Subscription Box

A sewing box is a great way to build up your fabric stash and try out new sewing tools and techniques, using the power of bulk buying to bring you the best possible value for money - and this Eco Subscription Box is no exception!  What makes this sewing box different from regular boxes though is that this box has a focus on upcycling, recycling, mending, and generally approaching your sewing hobby with sustainability in mind.  Each box is intended to encourage you to learn how to reduce, reuse and recycle the textiles around you.  Whilst you are free to use the contents as you wish, each month will have a focus on a different textile based item that you may have lying at home or can find in a charity shop.

Tailor's Tools

No product

In every box, there will generally be:

  • a project booklet with three suggestions on how to use this item:

    • change the garment into a different garment

    • adapt the garment into something you are more likely to wear

    • create something entirely different from the garment

  • a skill card focusing on a technique which you can use in upcycling your garments

  • Haberdashery.  Where appropriate, this will be to match the skill card, and will either be thrifted from discarded garments, or they will be new, more environmentally friendly items

  • fat quarters - a mix of thrifted textiles and sustainable fabrics

  • A sewing tool or accessory.  Where appropriate, this will link to the skill card.

However, the actual contents each month will be a surprise each month, and no two months will be exactly the same.  It is always the aim to be interesting, varied, good value for money, and - of course - sustainable.  So some months you may get more of one type of item and others you will receive more of another, dependent on price and availability.

Every month, subscribers are encouraged to share their makes using the box hashtag on Instagram, and a winner will be chosen to receive an additional surprise gift in their next box!  All box subscribers also have access to a private online group where they can share ideas, ask questions and share their makes with one another.
